The BBC is to inform the story of The Other Bennet Sister, adapting a novel penned by former BBC Two Controller Janice Hadlow and produced by Bad Wolf.
The e book tells the story of Mary Bennet – the seemingly unremarkable and missed center sister in Jane Austen’s Satisfaction and Prejudice. In contrast to her sisters, Mary isn’t your typical interval drama heroine. She is awkward, anxious, preachy, stuffed with details, and missed by her mom. She is seemingly destined to an empty dance card for the remainder of her life, till Mary takes issues into her personal arms.
Hadlow’s e book was revealed in 2020. She is a former BBC Two controller who commissioned the likes of Nice British Bake Off, Line of Responsibility and Wolf Corridor throughout her tenure.
