The Finest Authentic Tune nominees for the 2025 Oscars are in. The Academy of Movement Image Arts and Sciences’ alternatives within the class are “Mi Camino” and “El Mal” from Emilia Pérez, “By no means Too Late” from Elton John: By no means Too Late, “The Journey” from The Six Triple Eight, and “Like a Hen” from Sing Sing. The Oscars ceremony, which takes place on March 2 at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, will break from custom by airing behind-the-scenes insights on the making of the songs rather than stay performances, Variety reviews.
Formally, Clément Ducol and Camille are nominated for each Emilia Pérez songs (with director Jacques Audiard additionally being nominated for co-writing the lyrics to “El Mal”). Diane Warren is the nominee for The Six Triple Eight’s “The Journey”; Abraham Alexander and Black Pumas’ Adrian Quesada wrote the nominated Sing Sing observe; and Elton John, Brandi Carlile, Andrew Wyatt, and Bernie Taupin are the nominees for “By no means Too Late.” See the performers of every tune beneath.
