EXCLUSIVE: Bill Nighy is in talks to star in Clifftops, a Hugo Blick collection for the BBC set in a nostalgia-soaked Seventies trailer park overlooking the English Channel.
Deadline hears that The English author has teamed with Drama Republic, the producer behind Netflix’s One Day, to create the six-part collection, which sources mentioned has the wit of The Royle Household and the emotional clout of The Grapes of Wrath.
Clifftops facilities on a mom and daughter who escape an abusive husband to arrange a house away from civilization. On the clifftops, Lela is reunited together with her Bradford-born mother and father in a neighborhood of outcasts, set to the soundtrack and TV tradition of its day.

Nighy, Oscar-nominated for his function in Dwelling, is currently shooting an unnamed Jason Statham action-thriller for Black Bear. He not too long ago filmed 500 Miles, the most recent characteristic from Morgan Matthews (X+Y), and could be seen in Netflix’s Pleasure, which chronicles the primary IVF child.
Blick’s final main collection was The English, the Emily Blunt and Chaske Spencer Wild West revenge story, which was co-produced by the BBC and Amazon Prime Video.
