Darkside have introduced their third studio album, Nothing. Nothing follows Darkside’s 2021 full-length, Spiral. The musicians started rehearsing materials for Nothing in 2022, once they rented a storefront in northeast Los Angeles and jammed all through the summer time. They dubbed the area “The Spiral Home,” and spent hours improvising. A lot of the album was born from these impromptu classes.
Recording for the album started amid a 2023 tour—the band’s first since 2014. Darkside decamped to a studio within the south of France, and recorded the rest of the album in studios in Los Angeles and Paris.
