Red Hot Organization has introduced the large new compilation album Transa, which is billed as a “religious journey celebrating trans individuals.” The mission contains the primary new Sade tune in 14 years, a 30-minute piece by André 3000, Moses Sumney overlaying Sophie, an unearthed Pharoah Sanders observe, and dozens of different songs by Fleet Foxes, Yaeji, Fragrance Genius, L’Rain, Adrianne Lenker, Sam Smith, Beverly Glenn-Copeland, and Clairo, amongst others. Transa is split into eight chapters: Womb of the Soul, Survival, Darkish Night time, Awakening, Grief, Acceptance, Liberation, and Reinvention. Scattered throughout these sections are collaborations and canopy songs by over 100 artists, together with Jeff Tweedy, Grouper, Hunter Schafer, Julien Baker, Laura Jane Grace, Lee Renaldo, Bartees Unusual, Devendra Banhart, Faye Webster, Mary Lattimore, Invoice Callahan, Yaya Bey, Julie Byrne, Jlin, Alan Sparhawk, Kara Jackson, Helado Negro, Cassandra Jenkins, and extra.
Again in 2021, producers Mud Reid and Massima Bell started conceiving Transa as an album in eight components to reflect the eight stripes of the rainbow delight flag. Trans and nonbinary musicians have been invited to contribute to the album, with Reid and Bell working to attach them with their fellow musical heroes and inspirations.
“We began speaking about all of the presents that trans artists have been giving to the world, and wished to create a Purple Sizzling mission that centered and celebrated these presents,” says Reid. “We hoped to create a story that positions trans and non-binary individuals as leaders in our society insofar because the deep inside work they do to affirm who they’re in our present local weather. We felt that is one thing everyone ought to do.
