Kevyn Major Howard, recognized for showing as Rafterman within the 1987 Stanley Kubrick Vietnam Conflict movie Full Metal Jacket, has died on the age of 69.
“Kevyn Main Howard gave and gave and gave a lot to the world and particularly the women and men of our armed forces,” wrote his pal and former co-star Matthew Modine on X in a tribute. “He turned well-known for his position of ‘Rafterman’ in Stanley Kubrick’s FULL METAL JACKET. His portrayal gave him a novel entrée into the world of the US Marine Corps. This led him on a decades-long journey to be in service of our nation’s bravest. Thanks on your dedication to others and to America. Might all of the gods bless you Kevyn. Relaxation in peace. #SemperFidelis”
He hooked up a photograph from set that includes the “Lusthog Squad,” which included Howard alongside himself and co-stars Sal Lopez, Gary Landon Mills and Adam Baldwin. “We’re being lit by hearth on this photograph. We went to this supply of heat as a result of the winter of 1985 was notably freezing,” he added.
Howard died Friday in a Las Vegas hospital surrounded by his family members, TMZ reported per his household. Whereas his explanation for demise is but to be decided, he had been hospitalized for weeks on account of respiratory issues, the outlet, which first broke the information, stated.
Born Jan. 27, 1956 in Montreal, Quebec, Howard quickly moved to Los Angeles to pursue appearing. His credit on TV embrace Cagney & Lacey; The A-Group; MacGyver; Magnum, P.I. and The Outsiders. His final credited look is in Campaign in 1999, per IMDb.
