As Chris Rock makes his return to Saturday Night Live, the forged is diving into his filmography.
The 4x Emmy winner, who was a part of the SNL forged from 1990 to ’93, appeared in a brand new promo on Thursday for this weekend’s episode with musical visitor Gracie Abrams and forged member Heidi Gardner, who bonded over their favourite Rock film.
“You already know, Gracie and I have been simply saying how you probably did our absolute favourite film on this planet,” Gardner instructed him.
After guessing Madagascar (2005) and Grown Ups (2010), Abrams revealed, “No, Pootie Tang.”
“Y’all actually like Pootie Tang?” requested Rock with a glance of shock as Abrams responded “sa da tay” and Gardner quipped “wa-da-tah,” quoting the titular ghetto folks hero (performed by Lance Crouther) from the 2001 comedy.
Tailored from a sketch on The Chris Rock Present, Rock appeared within the Louis C.Okay.-helmed movie as Daddy Tang.
Gardner additionally instructed Rock she “grew up in your stand-up,” including: “No, I imply it. I didn’t have mother and father, I didn’t go to high school, I simply had a VHS copy of Greater and Blacker and a dream.”
“Rattling,” Rock replied.
