A couple of days in the past we reported that Neurosis and Sleep drummer Jason Roeder appeared to have either quit making music, or no less than retired from the highway. Roeder has since clarified in a brand new publish that he has not retired from music, and that there is nothing on this planet he’d slightly be doing.
Roeder then provided two items of significant data. First, he has no concept what is going on on with Neurosis ever since they fired Scott Kelly back in 2019 over some extraordinarily critical allegations of abuse. Roeder then notes he was fired from Sleep again in November by their supervisor over the telephone. Roeder mentions he hasn’t spoken to both Sleep‘s Al Cisneros or Matt Pike since then. So who is aware of what is going on on within the Sleep camp, however they have been largely very quiet exterior their current reissues.
Roeder drummed for Sleep between 2009 and 2019, after which once more from their reformation in 2021 to 2024. Sleep has not addressed the state of affairs.
“Small vinyl archive on the market. 113 data,” wrote Roeder in his publish. “Wish to promote as one lot. (perhaps to a document retailer?) All data in unopened, mint situation. Finest supply. To be clear, I’ve not ‘retired’ from music. There’s nothing on this earth that I’d slightly do. Life acquired in the best way. In the future I hope to leap again in. My private circumstances forestall me from having the ability to make {that a} actuality. A profession in music is treacherous. I wager the whole lot on it and misplaced.
“So far as Neurosis goes – I do not know. The remaining members are actually wonderful individuals and with or with out me I’m positive they are going to proceed to do mind-blowing work, no matter type it takes.
“So far as Sleep goes, I used to be unceremoniously fired By Sleep‘s supervisor over the telephone again in November. I have never spoken to Al or Matt in months and that brings some peace to my life that I’m grateful for.”
