Asheville, North Carolina, singer-songwriter Indigo De Souza was just lately forced to cancel multiple events after her home was severely damaged by Hurricane Helene. After posting updates, and searching for assist for others in her neighborhood, De Souza, has launched a fundraiser to assist rebuild her residence and resume her recording profession. “I’m elevating this cash to exchange the world of issues I’ve misplaced,” she wrote on GoFundMe. “And most significantly, the tools I’m so used to leaning on for making music — issues that preserve me alive, and permit me to do business from home. I’m ranging from floor zero.”
De Souza was among the many many artists to contribute to Cardinals at the Window, a compilation to learn hurricane victims in western North Carolina. Funds from the album have gone to Rural Organizing and Resilience, BeLoved Asheville, and the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina.
