The seventieth Nationwide Movie Awards occurred on the Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi with President Droupadi Murmu felicitating the deserving folks of the Indian Movie trade.
Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty was conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution to Indian cinema. Music maestro AR Rahman was felicitated with the Greatest Music Route Award for the movie Ponniyin Selvan Half 1.
The Greatest Characteristic Movie Award went to Malayalam movie Aatam, whereas Rishab Shetty gained the Greatest Actor Award for Kantara. It was a star-studded occasion with a number of celebrities akin to Manoj Bajpayee, Nithya Menen, Manasi Parekh, Karan Johar and Ayan Mukerji amongst others in attendance.
A number of photographs and movies went viral from the award ceremony capturing its essence. Ayan, whose movie Brahmastra gained large on the ceremony, was seen watching the movie on his telephone whereas the awards have been being handed out.
