A well-known face is returning to the Scream franchise. Per Selection, Mason Gooding is returning for Scream 7.
Gooding will reprise his function as Chad Meeks-Martin, the nephew of legacy character Randy Meeks. Gooding appeared in 2022’s Scream and 2023’s Scream VI. Chad survived the assaults by two Ghostface killers in Scream VI. Jasmin Savoy Brown, who performs Gooding’s onscreen twin Mindy, has not but signed on for Scream 7.
Gooding can presently be seen in A24’s catastrophe comedy Y2K. In 2025, Gooding will star alongside Olivia Holt within the rom-com slasher Coronary heart Eyes, which opens on February 7.
Who’s within the Scream 7 forged with Mason Gooding?
After sitting out Scream VI because of a contract dispute, franchise veteran Neve Campbell will headline the seventh installment as Sidney Prescott. In talks to hitch Campbell within the forged is Courteney Cox, who would reprise her function as Gale Weathers.
Isabel Could, the star of 1883, will star as Sidney Prescott’s daughter. Different new additions to the Scream 7 forged embrace Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace, and Sam Rechner.
Two names that gained’t be returning for Scream 7 are Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega. In November 2023, Barrera was fired by Spyglass Media Group after making pro-Palestine feedback relating to the Israel-Hamas Battle. The following day, Ortega departed the venture because of scheduling conflicts with Netflix’s Wednesday. It was later reported that Ortega and Spyglass had a wage dispute.
Christopher Landon, the director of Completely satisfied Loss of life Day and Freaky, signed on to helm Scream 7 in August 2023. After the departures of Barrera and Ortega, Landon exited the venture.
Scream creator Kevin Williamson will direct the seventh movie from a screenplay by Man Busick. It’s produced by Paul Neinstein, William Sherak, and James Vanderbilt. Spyglass Media will produce, and Paramount Photos will distribute.
Scream 7 arrives in theaters on February 27, 2026.
