Godsmack just lately kicked off their 2025 European with a barely altered lineup. Godsmack was founding frontman Sully Erna and bassist Robbie Merrill alongside Evanescence‘s Will Hunt filling in for drummer Shannon Larkin, and Sam Bam Koltun of Dorothy filling in for guitarist Tony Rombola.
On the time, Erna only said in an interview that it was a “tough query to reply proper now at this stage” and that “Tony and Shannon have some private issues happening.” Now because it seems, Larkin and Rombola each stop the band someday in 2024.
In response to Larkin in a brand new video transcribed by Steel Injection: “There’s been a number of hypothesis about that. To begin with, I simply need to thank everybody for the outpouring of texts from all my household and mates. I am okay, Tony‘s okay.
“We did stop the band final 12 months after a number of speaking to Sully and Robbie, they usually understood that we did not need to tour anymore. That is the explanation. We understood that they needed to tour, and so we understood one another and in the long run, Godsmack‘s on the market touring and we’re out right here fortunately dwelling our lives. Tony‘s turning 60. I am turning 58. It is not a bodily factor. We simply need to be residence with all the things that we love. 40 years I have been touring, 28 years for Rombola. We’re getting somewhat older so we determined to stop.
“It wasn’t a foul factor. I’ll speak extra about it sooner or later, but it surely’s all love. We’re brothers for all times with Sully and Robby, and we want Will and Sam all the most effective. All of the followers, preserve going – they’re kicking ass. Sully mentioned on the very finish, ‘all good issues should come to an finish.’ Godsmack did not come to an finish, it is only a new chapter for them, and it is actually a brand new chapter for Tony and I. We’re already making new music and all people’s glad.”
Godsmack has not but commented on the departures.
