Slick Rick is on the brink of launch his first album since 1999. The hip-hop artist will share Victory, a follow-up to The Artwork of Storytelling, on June 13. Victory is described, in a press launch, as a visible album that Slick Rick executive-produced with Idris Elba. It’s accompanied by a 30-minute movie, directed by Black Is King collaborator Meji Alabi, that can premiere at SXSW London, on June 7, and likewise display at Tribeca Festival on June 13. Slick Rick wrote and recorded Victory in London and France, and the movie was shot in the USA, the UK, and Africa, a press launch notes. The album can have visitor appearances from Nas, Giggs, and Estelle.
