Prolific actuality TV producer Troy DeVolld, who labored on Basketball Wives, Dancing With The Stars and Hollywood Sport Evening, died Oct. 14 in Casselberry, Fla. He was 53.
His passing was confirmed by the DeGusipe Funeral Home in Florida.
An Ohio native, DeVolld studied advantageous arts at Flagler Faculty and Full Sail College. His TV profession started in 2000 with a gig on MTV’s Concern. He then started working nearly nonstop within the unscripted house on reveals like The Osbournes, The Surreal Life, Home Guidelines, The Bachelor, Flipping Out, Who Are You Carrying, Paris Hilton’s My New BFF: Dubai, and She’s Acquired The Look.
His work on the Basketball Wives franchise started in 2010; he served as a supervising producer and a co-exec producer on each the unique and Basketball Wives: LA. He went on to provide the Hollywood Sport Evening, Dancing with the Stars, Hollywood Divas, and Nearly in Love.
He wrote two books concerning the small-screen enterprise: the 2016 tome Actuality TV, An Insiders Information to TV’s Hottest Market, and the 2021 e-book And One other Factor: A Newbie’s Information to the Tv Notes Course of. He was additionally an everyday panelist at Story Expo, an annual convention for writers.
DeVolld is survived by his sister Melissa Hughes and brother-in-law, Joshua Hughes.
